Manchester United Barclays Trophy
Today I went to Highstreet at 1Utama to see the official Barclays Premier League Trophy. Thanks to AirAsia for bringing the Manchester United’s Barcalys Premier League Trophy Tour 2008. We got free pictures by Canon. Got PS2 (winning eleven) and even foosball to play there.
I get to snap picture from the old box till the trophy was put on the stage. Cool rite.. The mat salleh guy kept the key to the old box.
I get to ‘hold’ the trophy. The trophy is close to me. Last year I won IMU Cup football competition, we just got small medal. See how big the trophy.
Next is picture of Edward ‘kissing’ the trophy. You can even see the reflection of his face from the trophy.
I was at 1Utama since 11AM, went to MPH to read ‘The AirAsia Story’. Datuk Tony Fernandes is indeed a man with vision. His book is a must to read. Hope can meet him up one day.
Lastly, I enter the contest and hopefully I can win the grand prize, which is ticket for 2 to watch the first Manchester United Premier League match for 2008/2009 season. Let’s hope I can win okie

You do know the trophy’s a replica, ya? I wasn’t allowed to hold the trophy handle though. And someone nicked my pics, so if you or any of your friends accidentally took any extra photos, please do let me know.

Yeah, replica. Obviously. It’s quite…short, and stout. If it’s the real deal, you will see more bouncer-like security guards around. I believe the CL trophy in 1U last year was the real deal. That one was quite huge.
Plus, the real trophy is in Old Trafford right now =D you gotta pay to take pics with it

My friend told me about the Champions League trophy, the event was much bigger, and the trophy was sealed in a transparent plastic/glass box.
But I did asked the mat salleh, he said is the real one. I was outside there waiting and even the Malaysia’s event security was not allowed to touch it.
You try to find AirAsia in facebook, got one reader complain about the event at 1U yesterday. Event organizer was bad.

Expected lar it’s a replica. Publicity also not much. The Heineken UCL Trophy one was really huge - the event I mean.
The mat salleh don’t know what he’s talking about lar. My friend in Manchester confirmed that there’s an EPL trophy viewing going on at OT. Do you think OT will have the replica, and the real one will be here? If you’ve seen the UCL one you’ll know this one very laoyah lar. You can email me your MSN, I’ll tell you more. I thought it was for real at first, given the heavy security appearance! But since they let you touch, and even kiss the trophy, maybe it’s just a replica afterall
What a coincidence, I went to One Utama today too, I saw the book but didn’t picked it up to read - I headed for the magazines section instead! Lol

subpar told me that it is a replica trophy because the real trophy was being showcased in Old Trafford.
Anyway, we did not get to touch or kiss the trophy. My hand is slightly in front of the trophy, creating the ‘holding’ look.
The ‘Air Asia story’ book has been on the recommended shelves for the past few months. You should read it. Tony Fernandes is a great guy!!

Hey just to clear things up I was a security officer for the trophy last year and their are no replicas out their but their is more then one they made 3, one for each sponsor! A carling one which will be the one you had as man u hold it in their stadium 24/7 unless they tour with it, a Barclaycard one that stays in the primer league office and we hold one as well that tour around the u.k. which is the Barclays one and the current one that the players will lift at the end off the season.
