Awana Kijal Trip 2
Continue from my previous post on Awana Kijal Trip Part 1.
ater at night, we BBQ in the apartment. Yea, in the apartment’s balcony. HaHa.. It is quite fun, because of limited space and we had difficulty to start up the fire. We eat in aircond room. We BBQ weird stuff, thanks to my friends’ idea. The next day, I got diarrhoea. Among the weird food are BBQ marshmellow and apple with chocolate.

The ikan pari is not 100% cooked. We had overcooked chicken wing, meat ball, and sausages.

At night we played Playstation 2.
The next morning, after having delicious breakfast (bread with tuna, bacon), we went for cycling around Awana Kijal. For RM10 per person for 1 hour, we get to ride all kind of bicycles including Harley Davidson-alike-bicycle, double bicycle, and BMX.

Before we left, we took some pictures at the hotel’s lobby.

This is quite a fun trip, although quite tiring for all of us. We are looking forward to our next trip in this coming MATTA fair.

Yea, Awana Kijal is quite a fun place, however, the maintenance is bad.
I rented one apartment, which require membership.
RM300 for 2 bedrooms apartment.
Petrol: about RM30 from Kuantan
Awana Kijal Golf, Beach and Spa Resort
KM28, Jalan Kemaman-Dungun
24100 Kijal, Kemaman
Terengganu Darul Iman, Malaysia.
Telephone: (609) 864 1188
Website: http://www.awana.com.my/
Hope this information can help you.

Really, that’s good to have own domain name. 10 years is really long.

You’re welcome
If you stay at Awana Kijal Hotel, then the price is RM300+ per room, which you can check at the website. The apartment is those 3/4 stories high just next to Awana Kijal Hotel. You need member to rent an apartment there.
RM30 is just my rough estimation, of course using the RM2.70/litre. Driving is quite ok, got new road, however part of the road near the Pelabuhan is still under maintenance.
Just drive and enjoy the whole journey, 1 hour plus should get you there from Kuantan town.

That’s because we have only 3 chairs. I think the picture is quite nice, with the girls half-sitting. In the end, we can’t finish the food.

You’re welcome. My aunt has the membership, which I am not sure. I suggest you to book the hotel room.

I’ve never been to any Awana resort before! I usually prefer steamboat over barbeque because the latter makes you smell like a smokestack after the meal is over, haha! But barbeques are fun, and you get to roast marshmellows too!
I enjoy cycling trips, especially night cycling trips where my friends and I will cycle for the whole night without sleeping, and drop by many seven elevens for toilet breaks and drinks.

I fully agree with you that BBQ will makes you smell like roasted human. I also prefer steamboat because 1) it is much healthier 2) easier, just dip in.
Cycle at night? That must be quite fun, i have not tried before.

Thanks for the compliment. I change to this new template long long time ago. You lagging lar. HaHa..

Hmm… Never been to Awana Kijal, so don’t know how it is??
But been to another place Strawberry Kijal(not far from awana gua)?? It has a very nice seaside view and it’s kinda affordable too(can’t recall how much)? try search online.
I only visit there once a year during monsoon seasons, cause that’s the only time for SURFING at Malaysia mah (yeah Surfer Dudes!)
Anyway the Harley look a like bike is call Chooper Bike! Cheers Bro.

Well if you want to go night cycling, be sure to choose a place that you’re familiar with and safe! Last time my classmates and I went to this unfamiliar park in Singapore and we got kinda harassed by dickheads in their drunken stupor… and they even smashed their beer bottles on the pathway to make sure our tyres get punctured. Luckily they weren’t exactly in the right state of mind so a detour saved us from more harassment….

I did consider Strawberry Kijal. The place is just like 10 minutes away from Awana Kijal. However, it seems like badly maintain. Thanks for the name - chooper bike.
to [teddY]
You guys are lucky at that time. Choosing the right place to cycle is very important too. Last time I went to Singapore, I cycle at near East Coast Park, got one cycling area. I think that place is opened only in daytime.
