Da Chang Jin
Long long time ago, I went to Da Chang Jin at Sri Petaling with my IMU friends. Their lunch food is quite affordable. Dinner is more expensive.
I ordered Kimchi-Jjigae, which consist of boiled Kimchi stew with rice. Quite spicy and I sweat even in the air-conditioned restaurant.

Each time you go there, they will serve you with a variety of side dishes, which is free-of-charge. Got mushroom, potato, mini kimchi, vege, and sweet ikan bilis. They also serve one scoop of vanilla ice cream for free.

Woah I never knew there’s a restaurant named after the famous Korean soap opera Da Chang Jin (or Dae Jang Geum)
I was a big fan of the series and watched it from the start to the end TWICE, heheh! The free side dishes sounds very attractive! When I get back to Malaysia, I’m definitely going to try it out! Thanks for telling us about it!

I believe the restaurant is named after the person. My friend told me there is more Korean restaurant at Korean town in Ampang. Maybe you should try the food there.

I like restaurant specializing in certain countries food, because usually they will serve lots of ‘weird’ stuff together.
Thanks for coming to my blog.
Do come often

gee…. i didn’t know they have this shop Da Chang Jin… you know what? they said that kimchi is like an affair, either you like it, or hate it! in my case.. didn’t really like it, the cold kimchi.. and to think it was served during EVERY meal in korea! and at that point, i missed msia food so much, and i think we threw away so much kimchi that week, enough to feed an army of people! then again, i heard that the locally made kimchi had been ‘modified’ to suit the local people’s taste… but i’m not sure how true is that.. should try this place some day!

According to my gf, the kimchi in Korea and Malaysia are just the same. It actually depends on individual. First time impression/taste on food is very important. Maybe my first time eating kim chi was a good want. That’s why I like kim chi.
You should try this place, it is at Sri Petaling, in front of Hotel Sri Petaling.
